Blocks E,F, and H - Actively read section one taking notes and summarizing the main ideas.
Block B - Finish coming up with the "why's" for the Bill of Rights. Try to answer the following questions about each of the Bill's ten rights:
Why did the Framers write in these protections?
Why do you think they felt it necessary to protect these specific things?
Also, see if you can come up with any new students rights based on the Universal Declaration of Human and Children's Rights that I gave you in class. If you can't come up with anything new, see if you can come up with modifications to the existing rights that you presented.

The purpose of the "Star Power" game was to get you thinking about the idea of "power," and how it is used and abused in society. Please answer the following questions to continue your reflection from the game:
1.) What makes you follow rules?
2.) Is there anything wrong with the idea of wanting to be in the highest social class in a society?
3.) How is it possible to limit the governments power?
4.) Where does power come from?
5.) What are the negative side effects of all people constantly competing against one and other for a spot in the highest class?
Please write in your notebook. I will be checking this next class.

Homework for 11/7/11
Blocks E, F, and H - Since I will not be seeing most of you until Monday the 14th, please read section 3 in the packet that I have given you. Read this actively, taking notes on the Proclamation of 1767, the Stamp Act, and the Quartering Act.
These three acts are very important to the town hall meeting that we will have on Monday. So make sure that you understand them well.
I recommend going back and rereading the information on Saturday or Sunday night to prepare for the meeting. Your participation will be graded during that simulation.
Also for homework, you must fill in the hand out that was given to you. Page number 44. It corresponds with section 5.3's reading.
If you have any questions about this please come and see me. Have a good weekend, go outside and play!
Block B - Read sections 4 and 5 actively. Also complete the hand out given to you: sections 5.4 and 5.5.
